Your email address, if you create an account. It is how you sign in and how we reach you about your subscription. We send the email a subscription genuinely requires; we don’t send marketing email.

Your email address, if you sign up for the weekly. The weekly is our once-a-week email naming the stories worth weighing and the blindspot in each one. When you sign up we store the address you gave, whether you told us you lead a small group, class, or ministry team, which form on the site you used, and the network address and browser your signup came from, so we can show the signup was real if we are ever asked. Nothing is mailed to that address until you click the confirmation link we send, and the link works once and expires after seven days. If you never confirm, you are never on the list.

Your email address, if you run a free sermon check. The address is what unlocks the one free check per 30 days, so we store it with the check to count the window, and we send that address an email carrying your result and its permanent link. If you come back inside the 30 days we send that link again, so it reaches you rather than appearing on a screen anyone could have typed your address into. The weekly is a separate box and a separate choice; leaving it unticked means we send nothing beyond the checks you ask for.

Payment details never touch our servers.Stripe processes them; we hold your subscription status, a Stripe customer reference, and Stripe’s webhook records of your subscription events (never card numbers).

Cookies, only where the product needs them. Signing in sets session cookies so you stay signed in. If you use the analyzer without an account, a random-ID cookie on your device tracks your free daily allowance; it identifies a browser, not a person, and connects to nothing else. There are no advertising or tracking cookies anywhere on the site.

Content you paste is processed to produce the analysis. Without an account, Ground Pews does not save what you paste to its own database, with one exception you choose yourself. If you run a free sermon check, we keep the analysis result and at most the first 500 characters of the transcript as an excerpt, tied to the email you gave, so your result link keeps working and your free check can be counted. With an account, we keep the analysis result and at most the first 500 characters of what you pasted as an excerpt so your history works. Long content is never stored in full in our database; a paste shorter than the excerpt cap fits inside it whole.

Content submitted for analysis is sent to Anthropic’s API for processing. Ground Pews does not use what you submit to train AI models. Anthropic may temporarily retain API inputs and outputs according to its commercial API data-retention terms, and may retain certain information longer where required for legal, safety, or abuse-prevention purposes. A screenshot you upload for text extraction is read once to pull the on-screen text out for your confirmation. The image is used transiently and never stored.

Fair-use counters. To keep the free tier free, we count daily analyses. For readers without an account, where a network address or email is the key, only a one-way hash is stored, never the raw value. Signed-in counters key on your account id. Every counter row is purged after seven days.

A flag you send. Every analysis carries a control for telling us it got something wrong. When you use it we store the reason you chose, anything you wrote, which analysis you flagged, and your account if you were signed in, so a person can review what you sent. Flagging an analysis saved in your account shares that analysis with the person who reviews the flag.

The weekly is optional and separate from your account. You can read everything on Ground Pews without ever signing up for it, and signing up for it does not create an account.

Every issue carries a link to leave the list. One click and no more weekly email arrives. You can also write to newsdesk@groundpews.com and we will take you off by hand. When you leave, we keep a small record of the address and the choice, because honoring an unsubscribe means remembering it.

We send the weekly and the emails the product genuinely requires, and nothing else. No marketing sequences, no partner mail, and the list is never sold, shared, or rented.

No advertising, no trackers, no analytics beyond what makes the product function, no selling or sharing of your data with data brokers, and no profiles built about your reading. Ground Pews does not use what you paste to train AI models. Your content is sent to Anthropic’s API to perform the analysis, subject to Anthropic’s commercial API data-handling and retention terms.

Two honest exceptions to “we don’t share.” If the law genuinely compels us, meaning a valid legal demand we cannot refuse, we comply, disclose the minimum required, and tell you when we’re permitted to. And if Ground Pews ever changes hands, your data goes with the service only under these same promises, and we’ll tell you before it happens.

Supabase hosts our database and sign-in. Stripe handles payments. Resend delivers the email we send, which means the address an email goes to passes through Resend to reach you. Anthropic processes analysis requests, which means content submitted for analysis is sent to Anthropic’s API. Under Anthropic’s standard commercial API terms, API inputs and outputs may be retained temporarily before automatic deletion, subject to limited exceptions for legal, safety, and abuse-prevention purposes. Vercel hosts the site. Scripture text is fetched from a public-domain Bible API server-side. Each provider processes information only for the role it performs for Ground Pews.

Ground Pews is operated from the United States by OTL Creative LLC, and our providers may process data in the United States. If you use Ground Pews from somewhere else, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Pasted text is never stored in our database for readers without an account, apart from a free sermon check’s excerpt. For signed-in readers, the analysis and its excerpt stay until you ask us to delete them or your account. A free sermon check’s result and excerpt stay so its link keeps working. Write to newsdesk@groundpews.com and we will remove a check and its address entirely. Fair-use counters are purged after seven days. Your account and history are kept until you ask us to delete them. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after account deletion. That part is not optional for us. Weekly-list signups stay until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you entirely. An address that never confirms is never mailed, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Database access runs under row-level security, and the keys that can bypass it never reach your browser. Payment credentials live at Stripe, not with us. No system is beyond failure, so we keep what we store small. The best protection for data is not holding it. If a security breach affects personal information we hold about you, we will assess it promptly, provide notice when the law requires it, and tell you plainly whenever a breach materially affects you.

Ground Pews is built for adults and is not directed at children. You must be at least 18 and have reached the age of majority where you live to use Ground Pews. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone who does not meet that age requirement. If you believe someone who is not eligible to use Ground Pews has created an account, write to newsdesk@groundpews.com and we will review and remove the account where appropriate.

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Asking for access to or correction of your data will not affect your access to Ground Pews.

If you ask us to delete your account, your profile and analysis history will be deleted and your account access will end. A free sermon check is not tied to an account, so deleting an account does not remove one. Write to us and we will remove it. Some records, including records we are required to retain for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, legal, or regulatory purposes, may be kept for as long as those obligations require.
