Terms of Service

Ground Pews analyzes news, sermons, and public content for biblical alignment. It is a discernment aid, not the final word: it does not replace personal Bible study, prayer, the indwelling Holy Spirit, or the counsel of your church. Analyses are generated with the help of AI and can be wrong. Take what you read here back to Scripture and prayer.

The service will change as it grows. We may add, adjust, or retire features, and we may change the free tier’s daily allowance; the current allowance is always stated on the pricing page. If we ever retire something a subscription was sold on, we’ll say so plainly and you can cancel.

You must be at least 18 and have reached the age of majority where you live to use Ground Pews. Ground Pews is built for adults and is not directed at children.

You sign in with a link or code sent to your email; you’re responsible for the email address you use and for what happens under your sign-in. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else is using your account. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or attempt to circumvent its limits.

What you paste stays yours. You keep every right you have in it; you give us only the permission we need to process it and return an alignment reading to you. We do not republish it and we do not use it to train AI models. Ground Pews does not store full pasted texts or transcripts in its own database. For signed-in readers, we keep the analysis result with a short opening excerpt of up to 500 characters so your history works; a paste shorter than that fits inside its excerpt, so short pastes are kept whole. For readers without an account, Ground Pews does not save what you paste to its database. Content submitted for analysis is sent to our AI processor as described in the Privacy Policy.

When you paste content, you confirm you have the right to submit it for analysis. Do not paste content that is unlawful for you to hold or share, or someone else’s private communications without their permission.

The analyzer weighs public teaching and published content. Use it for your own discernment and study, never as a scoreboard for harassing people. We may refuse analyses and close accounts used for harassment.

Ground Pews itself belongs to OTL Creative LLC. That includes the site, the scoring framework, the software, the design, and the name. Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use the service for your own study and discernment. It does not give you ownership of any part of the service.

Analyses are produced for your reading. Share an individual analysis freely, with attribution. What you may not do is repackage the service itself, resell analyses, or present Ground Pews output as your own product.

These are the lines. Crossing them can end your access.

Don’t circumvent the daily allowances or rate limits. Don’t scrape the site or hit the service with automated bulk requests. Don’t probe, overload, or interfere with the systems that run it. Don’t reverse engineer the service or attempt to extract its scoring prompts or models. Don’t submit content designed to manipulate the analysis of someone else’s work. Don’t use the service to break the law.

Go Deeper is billed by Stripe at the price stated on the pricing page when you subscribe, monthly or annually. Before you subscribe, checkout will show the amount you will be charged, how often you will be charged, that your subscription renews automatically until you cancel, and how to cancel. You must affirmatively agree to those renewal terms before we charge you.

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Cancel anytime from your account page. If you cancel, you keep Go Deeper access through the end of the period you already paid for, and no further renewal charge will be made. Payment details never touch our servers.

After you subscribe, we will provide you with a confirmation you can keep that states your subscription plan, price, billing frequency, automatic-renewal terms, and how to cancel.

For annual subscriptions, we will send you a reminder before your subscription renews. The reminder will identify the subscription, the renewal price and frequency, the upcoming renewal, and how to cancel.

If we increase your subscription price, we will give you clear advance notice before the new price takes effect and ask you to affirmatively agree to the increased price before we charge it. If you do not agree to the new price, we will not charge you the increased amount, and your subscription will end at the close of your current paid period unless another option is offered and you choose it.

If a payment fails, the charge may be retried, and your access continues through a grace window, currently about two weeks, while you update your payment method. If payment is not made by the end of that window, access returns to the free tier.

If something went wrong with a charge, write to us and we’ll make it right where we reasonably can; refunds beyond what the law requires are at our discretion. If we refund a charge in full, Go Deeper access ends when the refund is issued. A partial refund leaves access in place.

If a charge is disputed or reversed through your card issuer, Go Deeper access may be suspended while the dispute is resolved. If the dispute is resolved in our favor, or payment is otherwise restored, contact us and we will review the account for reinstatement. We’d always rather fix a problem directly, so if something went wrong, write to us first at newsdesk@groundpews.com and we’ll do our best to sort it out.

Every analysis carries a way to tell us it misread something. We review those flags. We don’t promise to change a verdict, but we do promise the flag reaches a person. An analysis is our reading of public content against Scripture as we understand it. It is opinion, offered for your discernment, not a factual accusation about any person.

Our scores and alignment readings are subjective theological evaluations of specific published content, measured against our interpretation of Scripture. They are assessments of that content, not of any person. They do not imply, and should not be read as, statements of objective fact about the financial integrity, legal compliance, or personal character of any individual or organization.

Ground Pews quotes headlines and short excerpts from published sources, with attribution, and links to the originals. If you hold rights in something we’ve displayed and believe the use goes beyond fair use, write to newsdesk@groundpews.com with the details and we’ll respond promptly, including removing material where a complaint is valid.

Ground Pews uses brief excerpts, headlines, and public quotes for purposes including criticism, theological comment, news reporting, and scholarship. We believe these uses are permitted by applicable copyright law, including fair use under 17 U.S.C. § 107. We do not claim ownership of original third-party source material, and we link to original sources so readers can consult them directly.

The feed links to outside news outlets, sermons, and study resources. Those sites are their own: their content, their terms, their responsibility. A link or an analysis is never an endorsement.

We work to keep Ground Pews accurate, available, and honest, but the service is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, and without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. Analyses are not professional, legal, financial, or pastoral advice.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. In plain words, that means losses that follow on from a problem rather than being the charge itself, like lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some places don’t allow some of these limits; where the law says otherwise, the law wins.

If your use of Ground Pews, or content you submit, breaks the law or these terms and a claim is brought against us because of it, you agree to cover the costs that claim causes us.

You can stop using Ground Pews anytime, and you can ask us to delete your account by writing to newsdesk@groundpews.com. We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms; if we close your account for a violation, fees already paid are not refunded. If we discontinue Ground Pews entirely, we will give reasonable notice when circumstances allow, stop future billing, and refund the unused portion of any prepaid subscription period on a prorated basis.

The parts of these terms that by their nature outlast an account survive its closing. Ownership, liability limits, and dispute terms are that kind.

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or Ground Pews are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere, any legal action arising out of or relating to these Terms or Ground Pews must be brought in the state courts located in Fulton County, Georgia, or the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. You and OTL Creative LLC consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing in this section limits any consumer right or protection that applicable law does not allow you to waive.

These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us. If a court finds one part unenforceable, the rest stands. If we don’t enforce a term today, we haven’t given it up. You can’t transfer your agreement or subscription to someone else; we may assign ours if Ground Pews changes hands, under the same promises.
